Hello, I've just started using the NuvaRing and it's fantastic.  The only thing is I removed the ring for my ring free week on Tuesday, and started my period on a Friday; should I start a new ring today with my first day of my period or do I wait until the seven days are up to insert a new ring?  But, what if I'm no longer on my period?

Great question!  I'm glad that the NuvaRing is working well for you.  The NuvaRing should be inserted after seven ring free days.  This would mean if you took the ring out on a Tuesday, you would replace it on a Tuesday.  It doesn't matter if you are having bleeding or not.  Insert a new ring on Tuesday.
