Question for Betty.

I just found out that I am pregnant.  When should I see my provider?

Betty's Answer.

Congratulations. You should schedule an appointment with your health care provider as soon as you suspect you are pregnant.  Prenatal care usually will be scheduled about once a month for weeks 4-28; twice a month weeks 28-36 and weekly for weeks 36 to birth.  If you are older than 35, or your pregnancy is high risk you may be seeing your health care provider more often.  Stop by the Student Health & Counseling Center for a brochure Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy, 50 Things Every Pregnant Woman Should Know.
