The purpose of the Saradell Ard Art Scholarships is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses for two full-time University of Alaska Anchorage students who are formally admitted into an Art degree-seeking program. The first award is for a BFA candidate whose work shows the most promise during his/her junior year for use during his/her senior year at UAA. The second award is to an art major that has returned to college to prepare for a second career. These scholarships are talent scholarships and no consideration will be given for financial need.
Qualifications:
Scholarship I
- Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic and leadership potential.
- Applicant must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
- Applicant must plan on enrolling full-time (twelve (12) credits) at the University of Alaska Anchorage by the start of the semester of the award.
- Applicant must be formally admitted to the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
- Preference will be given to students who show artistic ability in one or more areas of art (painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, etc.).
- Applicant must be a BFA candidate in his/her junior year, whose work shows the most promise.
- Applicant must provide ten (10) slides of artwork.
- Applicant may be a U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen, Alaska resident, or out-of-state resident.
Scholarship II
- Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic and leadership potential.
- Applicant must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
- Applicant must plan on enrolling full-time (twelve (12) credits) at the University of Alaska Anchorage by the start of the semester of the award.
- Applicant must be admitted to the Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Art degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
- Applicant must be an art major who has returned to college to prepare for a second career.
- Applicant must have trained and worked in some other field prior to returning to pursue an art degree; marriage and raising a family may be considered a career in awarding this scholarship.
- Preference will be given to students who show artistic ability in one or more areas of art (painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, etc.).
- Applicant must provide ten (10) slides of artwork.
- Applicant may be a U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen, Alaska resident or out-of-state resident.
