UAA Paul G. Landis Scholarship*

The purpose of the Paul G. Landis Art scholarship is to provide an annual scholarship to art majors at the University of Alaska Anchorage.  Preference will be given to students whose work is focused on painting or drawing.

Award amount is $1,000 per academic year

Qualifications:

  • Applicant should demonstrate motivation, talent, academic, and leadership potential.
  • Recipient will be selected based on merit.
  • Applicant must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
  • Applicant must be attending at least part-time (6 credits).
  • Applicant must be formally admitted into an Art degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
  • Preference will be given to students whose work is focused in painting or drawing.
  • Applicant must submit one drawing and/or painting.
  • Applicant may be a U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen, Alaska resident, or out-of-state resident.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in the semester for which the award is made.

To apply for this scholarship, please log-in to UA Online and submit the main UA scholarship application.  In addition, you must 
submit the additional information below to supplement the online application. Required Supplemental Information (2):

1.   Applicant must submit ten (10) visual examples of their art work in slides or digital imagery (jpeg/tiff) using CD ROM/DVD formats.  The work presented must be focused on drawing and/or painting.  Applicant is to provide a slide list describing each piece of art work.  This information must be submitted to the UAA Office of Student Financial Assistance by the deadline (not postmarked by the deadline).  Please submit information in a sealed envelope as follows:  Attn:  Paul G.
