2006 Student Conference on United States Affairs (SCUSA) Delegate

Michelle Steffens2_web

Michelle Steffens is congratulated at the 2007 Undergraduate Research Symposium by her faculty mentor Dr. Susan Kalina.

Economics major Michelle Steffens was selected as UAA's delegate to the 58th Student Conference on United States Affairs (SCUSA) that is held at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.  SCUSA is a four day conference bringing together students from around the world, the largest such conference of its kind, and is an excellent opportunity to meet future leaders and policy makers. Delegates participate in round table discussions on a variety of current issues and on the problems faced by all the major world regions.  The 2006 theme was "Challenges to Security: Extremism, Resources and Globalization."  Click here to read a copy of Michelle's Policy Paper that was completed by her roundtable group at SCUSA.

"SCUSA is an excellent opportunity for socially-conscious individuals to unite in discussion of worldly issues and contemplation of the course of future events."
- Michelle Steffens
