UAA faculty members seeking undergraduates to assist in their research are able to post announcements below. Students interested in working with a faculty member who is not listed below are encouraged to contact that faculty member directly.
Undergraduate Research Assistants Needed: The research group of Dr. Jeff Welker (Director, Environment and Natural Resources Institute) is in need of 3-4 undergraduate research assistants. The job includes laboratory work, plant sample preparation and some data analysis. Our work focuses on the ecology of Arctic environments and their responses to a changing climate. Applicants will have the opportunity to do hands on work with a number of instruments including microbalances, gas analyzers, mass spectrometers and elemental analyzers. And if that sounds complicated, don't worry! We'll help you gain real experience learning about what we study and the instruments we use to do it. Anyone interested is welcome to apply. Please contact Matthew Rogers (graduate research assistant) at mcr@uaa.alaska.edu.
Opportunities with faculty will be posted as they become available. Check back frequently for postings.
