In 2007, the annual Faculty Exemplar Awards were established by University Honors College Dean, Ronald Spatz, in consultation with the Undergraduate Research Task Force and the University Honors Council. These awards recognize faculty members who have demonstrated long-term, exemplary mentoring of undergraduate research and creative projects. These faculty members have an excellent record of mentoring students one-on-one outside of the traditional classroom setting. Their contributions to student success are hallmarks of inspired teaching and active learning.
The Faculty Exemplar Award Committee meets in March of each academic year to consider the nominations. Nominations received by March 5, 2010 will be considered for this year's award. Please complete the electronic nomination form.
The Faculty Exemplar Awards are presented at the Undergraduate Research Symposium each year.
