Attire for on camera classes
Males
- Avoid pure white shirts. Light blue is preferred over white.
- Avoid t-shirts. Portions of the slogan may not show and may inadvertently appear offensive.
- Check your tie. Some "funky" patterns may be very tiring on the students' eyes.
- Avoid sleeveless shirts Avoid strong patterns and bold stripes
- Avoid fragile knits/materials, which could be damaged by the alligator clip of the microphone.
- Check your grooming before going on the air.
- Although experts recommend neutral colors "on camera", our students have stated that they prefer bright clothing
Females
- Avoid pure white bodices/tops.
- Avoid t-shirts. Portions of the slogans may not show and may inadvertently appear offensive.
- Avoid dangling earrings Minimize necklines and lapel pins - too much reflection.
- Avoid low cut necklines or those that "gap" easily.
- Avoid sleeveless blouses/tops
- No special make-up is required
- Avoid bold patterns and bold stripes.
- Avoid metallic materials (lames) and materials with metallic threads/paints
- Avoid metallic hair clips/headbands
- Avoid bangle bracelets and "charm" bracelets (too noisy)
- Avoid fragile knits/materials, which could be damaged by the alligator clip of the microphone
- Check your grooming before going on the air
- Although exerts recommend neutral colors "on camera", our students have stated a preference for bright primary colors.
