University Singers Winter Concert

The UAA University Singers, under the direction of Grant Cochran, will present a concert-version of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ nativity play with music, The First Nowell , Thursday, December 2nd at 7:30 pm in the Arts Building Recital Hall.

This performance of Vaughan Williams’ last composition (1958) will be given by the 40-voice University Singers accompanied by pianist Tom Rodda.

 The text of play is derived from Medieval pageants and much of the music comes from traditional English carol tunes. Members of the University Singers will also provide the speaking roles.

Dr. Grant Cochran is an adjunct instructor and director of choral activities at UAA.
