“The Alaska Natural Gas Pipeline: What’s it all About?”

By: Lori Keim  Nov 22, 2005

Tuesday, November 29, at 7 p.m.
UAA Wendy Williamson Auditorium

FINALLY – Some real answers to all the questions about Alaska’s proposed natural gas pipeline.  This is expected to be a broad ranging discussion and there will be opportunities for the audience to ask questions as well.  The presenters will talk about the proposed project from their perspective, then Chancellor Emeritus Lee Gorsuch will moderate a Q & A between the presenters and the panelists.  That will be followed by questions from the audience.  The public is encouraged to attend.

This is the first in a series of public policy forums that Lee Gorsuch, UAA chancellor from 1994-2004 and ISER director from 1976-1994, will moderate. The forums will examine important issues facing the State of Alaska.

The forum is sponsored by UAA’s Institute of Social and Economic Research and the International Association of Energy Economics, Alaska Chapter, and is partially funded by the Lee Gorsuch Public Policy Fund—an endowment within the University of Alaska Foundation. The endowment was created upon his retirement to recognize the contributions of Chancellor Emeritus Gorsuch to public policy analysis in the state of Alaska.  The annual income from the endowment will provide financial support for one or more annual events addressing important or emerging public policy issues for the state.
