Up to 100 soldiers and airmen stationed at Fort Richardson and Elmendorf Air Force Base are going to UAA’s Glacier Classic Basketball Tournament free on December 30.

The tournament takes place December 30 and 31 at the UAA Wells Fargo Sports Complex. Military discount tickets for Glacier Classic games scheduled for December 31 are $5.

A cooperative effort between the university and area military installations, the program also provides free tickets for up to 50 family members deployed from the base and post.

In addition to the free admission military personnel and the family members attending the December 30th games are invited to a reception at 7:30 PM. At the reception students staying in UAA’s residence halls over the semester break will meet with the solders and airmen.

The goal of the program is to continue the partnership between UAA and area military installations and to provide an activity for those away from home during the holidays.
