The University of Alaska Anchorage’s most generous contributors were honored at an inaugural event at the President’s Associates Donor Recognition Dinner.
Host, University of Alaska President Mark Hamilton, and UAA Chancellor Elaine Maimon recognized individuals and corporations whose generosity has profoundly affected higher education in Alaska.
The first of what is intended to be an annual event, the dinner honors donors who gave at a high level during the 2004 fiscal year, those who have made the greatest overall contributions to UAA over the years, and those who have named the university in their estate plans.
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of UAA’s brand-new Donor Wall, honoring individuals and corporations with the highest levels of cumulative giving to UAA.
The Donor Wall is located in the hallway leading from the Social Sciences Building to the new UAA/APU Consortium Library
“These remarkably generous and farsighted people are making Alaska a better place,” said UA President Hamilton.
“With their help, Chancellor Maimon and her new administration are delivering a higher-quality, more enriching education to more Alaskans than ever before.”
