With election day drawing near, the University of Alaska Center for Democracy brings you the “The Choice: George W. Bush vs. John F. Kerry. ”
This free, nonpartisan public presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17, in room 101 of UAA’s Business Education Building.
“The Choice” raises questions about both the choice facing voters on Election Day and America’s future.
What must the next president do to resolve the crisis in Iraq and win the war on terror? To revitalize the economy?
To reunite a bitterly divided nation? What do the sharply different leadership and decision-making styles of George Bush and John Kerry say about how each would tackle these daunting problems?
The presentation will be hosted by Bruce Buchanan, professor of government at the University of Texas Austin. Buchanan’s specialty is Presidential Politics.
He holds an A.B. from Stanford and a Ph.D. from Yale. He frequently speaks to civic and professional groups about American politics, and his commentary is regularly featured in national and international news media reports.
The presentation is sponsored by the University of Alaska Center for Democracy and is open to the public free of charge.
