BSD Module I
Cost Center Clerk Training

Learn more than just Job Forms. Attend this module to understand the how’s and why’s of completing & documenting a Job Forms including employment eligibility (I-9’s). Bring your Banner Desk Manual for updates. 

BSD Module II
Introduction to UAA’s Content Management System (CMS)

New to the CMS? This class is for you. This introduction session is a class that goes step-by-step through the process of editing an existing web page and creating a new page on an existing website. Web site design best practices will be discussed. Basic table creation, picture insertion and document attachments are also covered.

BSD Module III
CMS Review – Beginning to Intermediate Level

This class is set up to be a review session to go over basic CMS editing and adding pages. Participants will also learn best practices when adding pictures and documents to an existing website. Emphasis will be placed on picture quality, sizes and locations on a webpage. Section 508 compliance will also be covered.  

Pre-requisite: Currently have access to a CMS web page

BSD Module IV
CMS Website Administration – Advanced

This class is designed to introduce participants to the back-end of the CMS. Topics will include subsite administration and best practices for a website layout. Special emphasis will be placed on page and link management reports.

BSD Module V
 CMS Google Analytics – Advanced

This class will cover the basics on how web statistics are taken and ways to find out where people are coming from and what they are looking at with they visit your site.

 BSD Module VI
CMS Simple Forms and Datasheets

This class is a two part class. The first part will go over how to create simple forms in the CMS. Many departments use these forms for students to request information packets about their program. When a user hits the submit button, the information will automatically be emailed to a desired location. Additionally, the information will be stored in a database. The second part of the class will cover how to pull the information from the database and export it as a .csv file.

BSD Module VII
 CMS: How to Reach a Broad and Diverse Audience with your Website

This class is designed to help content designers make sure information distributed via the web can be accessed by a wide range of users. Emphasis will be placed on best practices for overall website accessibility with brief coverage of legal issues. Participants will get to experience what it is like to surf the web with assistive and emerging technologies. Pre-requisite: Intro and Intermediate CMS training
