Honors Program Advisors
Mentoring and advising are key to the Honors experience, and our faculty and staff are committed to giving students individualized advice. During the first two years of the Honors College, you should meet with your University Honors Advisor at least once per semester to review your academic performance and approve your course schedule prior to registration. Advisors can also provide information about campus resources to help you with problems or to direct you toward scholarship, fellowship and research opportunities. You may contact your advisor directly, or make an appointment through the Honors Office (786-1086). Choosing an AdvisorYou will have two academic advisors: University Honors Advisor: Initially, your University Honors Advisor is Marian Bruce, Assistant Dean of the University Honors College. However, you are encouraged to select one of the University Honors Academic Advisors (see list to the right). If you would like assistance with choosing your advisor, please call 786-1086. Departmental Major Advisor: As soon as you select a major, you will also have an academic advisor in your major. This advisor is responsible for monitoring your progress in your major department. If you would like assistance with contacting your departmental advisor, please call 786-1086, or contact your major department directly. You may also visit Who is My Academic Advisor?
