ABOUT UNIVERSITY HONORS
The University Honors College offers capable and motivated students across all UAA schools and colleges the opportunity to engage in intense and meaningful intellectual experiences. The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship, a division of the Honors College, offers opportunities for undergraduate research, scholarship, and experiential learning in which students develop an integrative perspective that extends beyond the confines of individual majors and disciplines.
Through its three academic programs, the University Honors College offers interdisciplinary courses, academic advising and mentoring, leadership and scholarship opportunities, smaller classes and guided individual research, community involvement and interaction with peers committed to academic excellence. The Honors College helps students develop a competitive edge for career options as well as for admission to the best graduate and professional schools in the nation. Recent graduates have become Marshall. Fulbright, Goldwater, NCMR, and Truman Scholars with significant scholarship and graduate placement. The University Honors College was singled out for special commendation by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, Commisson on Colleges. Above all else, the priority of the University Honors College is to help develop leaders in their respective fields of study, leaders who are engaged locally, nationally, and globally at this critical point in the history of our State and our nation.
