UAA has been an essential part of the growth and development of Southcentral Alaska for over 50 years. From its beginnings in high school classrooms and on military bases throughout the region to the creation of community campuses serving Anchorage, the Matanuska Valley, Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak, and Valdez to the multifaceted modern university of today, UAA has mirrored and supported the growth of our communities.
UAA's Office of Community Partnerships extends this history of growth and development into new areas to meet the challenges that face our communities today.
Our goal is to further strengthen the vital links between university and community by
- Creating new community partnerships to further UAA's teaching, research, and service missions
- Promoting collaboration between schools, colleges, campuses, and the community
- Promoting service learning and community engagement for students and faculty
- Building UAA's sustainability initiatives across the campuses and across the curriculum
