Carol Comeau

Carol Comeau, the superintendent of the Anchorage School District, began her career in Anchorage schools as a noon duty attendant and teacher aide in 1974. She worked as a teacher for many years before serving as a school principal, Executive Director of Elementary Education and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. She’s been the ASD superintendent since 2000. She is President of the Executive Committee of the Council of the Great City Schools and serves on numerous boards of community organizations because she believes it is essential to be an active participant in our community. She has received recognition from many community groups for her service to the Anchorage community and has been a champion for academic achievement, vocational education and workforce readiness.
