Loretta Andress is a faculty member at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She has a BA in Russian and a Master's in Library Science and has worked as a medical and academic librarian for the past twenty-three years.

Accompanied by humorous illustrations, these idioms provide a valuable supplement for students who wish to increase their general comprehension of the Russian language. Loretta Andress assisted with translation and interpretation of the Russian idioms and selection of English analogs.
