Transfer/Returning Students: Certificate or Associate Degree Programs

  • All requested transcripts and test scores must be official and remain in an envelope sealed by the issuing institution. Students do not need to request transcripts from any University of Alaska campus.
    • Mail official transcripts to UAA Office of Admissions,
      PO Box 141629, Anchorage AK 99514-1629
    • Email Official transcripts from SECURE providers to admissions@uaa.alaska.edu
      (It is important to ONLY use THIS email address for official transcripts).
      • UAA does not accept FINAL transcripts by fax or email.
  • Students who wish to transfer college-level course work from institutions outside the United States or Canada must submit:
    • transcripts with English translations
    • an official statement of educational equivalency from World Education Systems Transfer credit is not evaluated until the student is fully admitted and the official foreign evaluation has been received.
Certificate or Associate Degree (1-2 years)
Admission Requirements
 
Students with fewer than 30 college-level semester credits:
Qualifications (one of the following)
  • Have earned a high school diploma (no minimum GPA required); or
  • GED; or
  • Ability to Benefit Certificate (must be 18 years of age or older)
    • Students that have not graduated from a regionally accredited high school or earned a GED are not eligible to receive Federal Financial Aid.
Required Admission Documents
  • Admission application and $40 fee
  • Final high school transcript showing graduation date or GED test scores; or Ability to Benefit test scores
  • Official transcripts from all regionally accredited colleges and universities
Students with 30 or more college-level semester credits:
Qualifications (one of the following)
  • Have earned a high school diploma (no minimum GPA required); or
  • GED; or
  • An Associate level degree; or
  • Ability to Benefit Certificate (must be 18 years of age or older)
    • Students that have not graduated from a regionally accredited high school, earned a GED, or earned an associate level degree previously, are not eligible to receive Federal Financial Aid.
