I encourage you to participate in Graduate Orientation, read the UAA Graduate Student Handbook and your department handbook, add your name to the Graduate Studies list serve, and join the Graduate Student Association.

However, student life is more than academics. UAA offers wonderful visual and performing arts, lectures, symposia, and conferences.  Anchorage offers world class recreational sports such as skiing, fishing, hiking, and biking; and the performing arts and fine restaurants. Enjoy winter festivals such as The Fur Rendezvous and the Iditarod Sled Dog race to Nome Alaska.
